Ethiopia

Did you know that the world’s most ancient but still existing nation state is in Africa? Did you know that it received Christianity during the time of the apostles, long before Europe did? Did you know that it was one of other first foreign countries to offer sanctuary to the original Muslims?

Ethiopia is a country split diagonally by an act of nature – the Great Rift Valley, which stretches from the Dead Sea and down the length of East Africa to enter the sea in Mozambique. It enters Ethiopia from the Red Sea through Eritrea in a ”Y” formation north of the border with Djibouti, and then runs southward, producing a chain of small lakes beyond Addis Ababa, to leave the country at Lake Turkana and enter Kenya.

In general Ethiopia has diversified features like, majestic mountains, imposing peaks, alluring and glamorous gorges, ravishing tablelands, luxurious tropical regions and the magnificent Rift Valley, the only mark on the earth visible from the moon.

The splendid landscapes, the tremendous and unusual physical relief and the infrequent wilderness, the numerous lakes characterized by their aquatic life, interweaving rivers, the enticing and magnificent waterfalls, extensive national parks and game reserves are captivating, astonishing natural attractions that Ethiopia offers. And, along with the unique nature, for centuries Ethiopia has amazed the world with such wealth and variety of ancient legend, along with the immense historical and cultural heritage.
